Core work

RACS’s core work supports people with protection visa applications, submitting appeals and attending interviews.

Each day, RACS lawyers and legal volunteers respond to phone calls, emails and face-to-face questions from people seeking safety in Australia in need of legal advice or representation. These could be new arrivals hoping for help with their first protection visa application, or bridging visa holders who have been in Australia for over a decade, trapped in temporary visa limbo through no fault of their own.

Such critical assistance is often the difference between a person living in uncertainty and living with the hope of a safer future, and its impact is assured through the support of our pro bono law firm partners.

I’m very happy that RACS helped me. They didn’t care where I am from. They just want to help.
